Â
Judiciaryexam:- First of all, congratulations from the entire team of judiciraryexam.com for your success in the Odisha Judicial Services.
Sushrita : Thank you so much for your kind greetings.
Â
Judiciaryexam :- Who would you like to credit for your success?
Sushrita:- This is possible because of Maa Saraswati for her immense kindness and blessings. It’s the blessings of both my maternal and paternal grandmother and paternal uncle who are no more with us. Again, my parents, my whole family, my teachers, friends and some seniors and juniors who supported me throughout the journey and believed in me even at times when I couldn’t believe in myself.
Â
Judiciaryexam :- When and how did you dream of becoming a civil judge?
Sushrita:- It was in class 7 when we were taught about the three organs of the State. I learnt how the Judiciary functions independently and impartially and subject to nobody’s influence except the law of the land. I saw how people still have faith in this organ of the State. I was very inclined towards this and wanted to serve the nation by being a part of it.

Judiciaryexam :- Were you doing any job or practice while preparing for Civil Judge?
Sushrita:- No, I was not doing any job while preparation; rather I was pursuing my Masters in Law.
Â
Judiciaryexam :- What special strategy did you adopt to make yourself stand out from other candidates and achieve success this time?
Sushrita:- I practiced last ten years question papers, made my own notes and thoroughly revised those. Also, I remained aware of the recent legal developments and judgments.
Â
Judiciaryexam :- How did you prepare for the preliminary exam?
Sushrita:- I made no separate preparation for the Preliminary examination. I started preparing for the MAIN from the very beginning and it automatically got me prepared for the Preliminary examination as well. Additionally, I read the bare acts multiple times and practiced Multiple Choice Questions of various other State Judiciary examinations.
Â
Judiciaryexam :- After passing the preliminary exam, how did you prepare for the mains exam?
Sushrita:- Main exam is more of the presentation style and time management. When I started to write answer, it took me 55 minutes to complete it. I was very much demotivated but my brother and sister motivated me. I practiced writing repeatedly till I could complete the answer within 20 minutes. I followed a proper structure in writing answer while highlighting important doctrines, maxims and landmark case laws pertaining to the question asked.

Â
Judiciaryexam :- How did you prepare for the interview after passing the main exam?
Sushrita:- For interview, I enrolled in four private coaching institutes who were providing mock vivas free of cost to students. That helped me understand the pattern of viva and boosted my confidence.
Judiciaryexam :- When and in whose board did you have your interview?
Sushrita:- I had my viva in the Odisha Public Service Commission Office in Cuttack. The panel consisted of Honourable Chairman, OPSC, Justice S.K. Panigrahi, Hon’ble Judge, Orissa High Court and another respectable member of the OPSC.

(v) Section 85B of Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
I was also asked about my role model in Judiciary and why I chose it as a profession. Then, I was asked two application based questions regarding admissibility of CCTV footage as evidence and justification of seizure of devices in which pornographic content is watched.
Judiciaryexam :- Do you have any good or bad experiences during your preparation that people can learn from?
Sushrita:- People are busy in their respective lives and fighting their own battles. In the whole process of preparation which is at times draining and excruciating, we should be kind towards others and our own selves throughout.
